Remembering Glen Gransberg

Longtime BSSEF member Glen Gransberg passed away on 10/13/11.  You can read his obituary here.  Glen's love for ski racing and Big Sky manifested itself in his generous endowment of a fund to help support the team's annual Gransberg Cup.  You can view action from last Spring's inaugural event here.  This year's Cup will be held on 3/10/12.

USSA Memberships for the 2011-2012 Season

Online registration is now open for the 2011-12 season. So save a stamp and register online now.

Early registration is especially important for coaches and officials that are required to complete background screening this season. Screening is currently required every three seasons. Member Service can check if re-screening is required. Please note, approximate screening times are several weeks for those who have resided in the U.S. for at least seven years. Foreign screenings can take several months on average.   Follow this link for on line membership:

Check out the new user account system that will allow multiple members to be managed under one account. Users will need to create a new account this season to access the new system. To get started create a primary account and link or "associate" each member of your family to that account. Also, new this season is online chat support for online registration located on the right hand side of the account system. Just click the link to get immediate help. If a representation isn't available you'll have the opt ion of leaving an email message.

USSA is still accepting paper applications. USSA & FIS Applications are available in PDF format for registering by mail, fax or email. If faxing, please call or email to confirm receipt of your fax.

Preregistrations and Bib Assignments for Gransberg Cup

A few notes regarding this Saturday's Gransberg Dual Challenge:

• As noted previously, the entry fee has been waived for participant members of the BSSEF.
• Members of the YSL, Buddy Werner, Junior Development, and Freeride teams have been preregistered, and your bib numbers have been pre-assigned.  Meet your coaches at the Ramcharger Race Shack at 9:00AM as usual.  They will give you your bibs.  A listing of all pre-registered team members and their bib assignments can be found on the Live-Timing.com web site.

Master's Nordic Coaching Every Wednesday

For experienced skiers looking to improve techniques, learn training methods and receive video analysis. For skiers planning to compete in the Yellowstone Rendezvous Race in March, this is the program for you. Wednesdays 4-6pm through March 2. $25 per session or $195 for the entire program.
