From Sherri Hale at Northern Division:
Greetings! Please read information below from USSA Membership. Note that the FIS age has changed to 16 years old. Also, if your athlete is 12 or 13 as of January 1, 2013 - next year a U14 Classification - please hold off on renewing your membership until mid summer. This will give ND direction for this age group following meetings at Congress.
From Sheryl Barnes at USSA:
Registration opened today for the 2012-13 season. The following enhancements have been made among others.
- First year Alpine FIS age change to 16 years old
- Alpine age class and nomenclature changes
- Automated introductory email including attached membership card within three hours of registration
- Global Rescue memberships available for purchase within the online registration process
- Safe Sport Child Protection policy sign off for all members
- Safe Sport Course added for all coaches without certifications
- Status indicators within the My USSA Account. The indicators will alert the primary member on the account if he/she is pending for either background screening or Safe Sport course completion.
An email will go out to all members within a week to let them know that registration is now available. At this time, we’ve alerted alpine clubs and alpine FIS athletes. This will allow us to monitor registrations for a bit to ensure the system the system is working as intended. Although FIS forms are available for the 2012-13 season, we are still finalizing the 2013 applications. However they should be available by the end of the week. The registration gateway is still a work in progress. We hope to launch that in the next several weeks.
