The Hahnenkamm

It is still summer, and the high temperature in Bozeman is pushing 90 degree Fahrenheit.  Naturally, I got to thinking about the Hahnenkamm.  Check out this video from USST member Travis Ganong documenting his first race down the Streif last season:

Note the 137 kph (85 mph) speed in the Zielschuss near the bottom of the run!

Northern Division Fall General Meeting on 9/10/11 in Bozeman

The Northern Division's Fall General Meeting will be held at the Bridger Ski Foundation offices (see following map) beginning at 8:00AM on Saturday, September 10, 2011.  The complete agenda will be posted to the Northern Division's web site prior to the meeting.  However, the agenda will include:

• A presentation by Gwynn Watkins, the new USSA Western Region Development Manager, on the new USSA concussion policy.
• The finalization of the 2012 Alpine race calendar.

Next Board Meeting on 9/14/11

The next BSSEF board meeting is scheduled for 5:30PM on Wednesday, September 14th, in the board room on the first floor of the First Security Bank building in Big Sky.  Be sure to attend, if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions regarding the upcoming season.

FIS Registration Goes Up After 8/15/11

Only athletes born in 1996 are earlier are eligible for FIS registration for the 2011-2012 season.  If you register by 8/15/11, the cost to appear on the 11/11 - 5/12 FIS points lists is $85.  After 8/15/11, the registration cost goes up to $155.  Download the Alpine Registration for FIS Points List 2011/2012 here.
