Per this previous post, Big Sky Resort is offering discounted season passes for Juniors (11-17) who are certified members of BSSEF.

• Contact Jeremy Ueland to get on the list of certified BSSEF members.
• Once you are on the list, call Big Sky Guest Services at 406-995-5749 and ask for Cole Bixby to purchase your tickets.

USSA Northern Division on Facebook

If you use Facebook, become a friend of USSA Northern Division.  Northern Division will use its Facebook page to share photos, comments, videos, links, and discussions about skiing and Alpine competition.

USSA Alpine Race Official Credentials

The following is from Sherri Hale at Northern Division:

Clubs and Coaches are asked to compare this spreadsheet from Spud to the USSA records of officials' certifications to identify where there are differences in the list of whose credentials are current and who needs to be re-certified.  It is suggested that you pull the records for Northern both 2009 and 2010 from the USSA site when doing your search as many have not yet renewed for this season.  Spud had apparently sent in some information to USSA that have not processed yet and Sherri would like to get this all straightened out before the season begins.  She would like a representative from each club to sit down with her after the Fall meeting at Right Now to go over the discrepancies.  So, please do some homework before the meeting and find out if your club officials plan to stay active and if their credential information is correct.  New this year is a test for Chief of Course.  In addition, Timing and Race Administrators need to go through updates every two years like other officials for their credentials to stay current.  Update sessions are shorter and they will not have to be re-tested unless they miss getting their update.

Fall Ski Camp at Loveland, Colorado

Act now if you are interested in joining the Silver Run Ski Team at a Fall ski camp at Loveland, Colorado, this November 3-8.  Call Head Coach Pete Petry at 970-389-5523 immediately to reserve your spot.  (We received the notice late, and the original reservation due date was 9/16/09.)

Buy Junior Season Passes at Big Sky

Big Sky Resort is generously offering 2009-2010 season passes to Juniors (11-17) who

• are not residents of Big Sky and
• are certified members of BSSEF.

Here's how the pricing works:

• Purchased by 9/30/09: $585
• Purchased after 9/30/09: $685

The regular Junior pass prices are $750 and $850, respectively.  So, we're getting a discount of roughly 20%.

To buy a Junior passes at the discounted team rate, here's what you need to do:

• Contact Jeremy Ueland and have him put your Junior's name on the authorized list.
• Call Big Sky Guest Services at 406-995-5090 to purchase the pass.

If your Junior's name isn't on the authorized list that Jeremy gives to Big Sky, you won't be able to buy the pass at the discounted rate.

Heads Up: Discounted Junior Season Passes at Big Sky

Like last year, Big Sky Resort has offered to extend its discount on Junior (11 to 17 year olds) season passes to non-Big Sky residents.  However, the discounted Junior passes must be purchased by September 30th.

Details regarding price and purchase instructions will follow as soon as they are available.  Recall that last year, Big Sky offered a $570 pass price to Juniors on the Big Sky team that lived outside of Big Sky.  Regularly priced Junior season passes for 2009-2010 are $750 through 9/30/09 and $850 thereafter.

The deadline for the 2009-2010 Stacey Cook/SVST Scholarship for J2/J3 Alpine competitors is 10/11/09.  More information and an application can be found at www.staceycook.net.

Northern USSA Meeting on 9/26/09 in Bozeman

The Fall Meeting of the Northern Division will be held at 9:00AM at RightNow Technologies in Bozeman:

An agenda will be posted to the Northern Division website. The street address is 40 Enterprise Blvd. in Bozeman. Head south on 19th, passing MSU campus and stadium to the east. Continue south past the 19th and Kagy stoplight, then west on Stucky, 2nd street to the left is Enterprise Blvd., SE corner of first building. Note that the first left turn off of Stucky is the Grace Church parking lot, not a street.
