The RMC Invitational slalom races were held at Red Lodge this past weekend for J3's and older. The field, as you might expect, included numerous college racers. Appropriately enough, the courses were set tough on a steep, icy run. On Saturday, Big Sky's team were among the casualties: Melissa Wills, Madison Bildahl, and Graham Foster failed to finish, and Bridget French DQ'd. Coulter Tate, however, finished 33rd and scored his first slalom points as a J3.
Sunday's results were better for the team. Madison, Melissa, and Sylvie Henry finished 14th, 24th, and 25th, respectively. All ended the day with slalom race points that were an improvement on their start-of-year points. Bridget had a really fast first run, but she failed to finish her second run. On the boys' side, Coulter finished 27th on Sunday and achieved a sharp drop in his race point from day-to-day. Graham finished 32nd on Sunday.
Complete results can be found here. Check out the list of DNF's and DQ's. It's a feat just to finish these races.
