Board Meeting Saturday at Big Sky Resort

The BSSEF board will meet at 4:00PM tomorrow (Saturday, 11/30/08) in the Mammoth Room in the Mountain Mall at Big Sky Resort.  Alternatively, if the Mammoth Room is closed, the meeting will be held in the cafeteria seating area on the second floor of the Mountain Mall.

Alpine Racers: Northern USSA Forms Due 12/1/08!

If you are a J4 or older Alpine ski racer and you want to be eligible to participate on a USSA Northern Division select/championship team (e.g., J4 Festival, Junior Olympics, Intermountain Championships, etc.) you must submit the following three forms to Sherri Hale at Northern Division by next Monday, 12/1/08:

• Code of Conduct
• Financial Agreement
• Medical Release

No Devo Training on Friday

Due to the conditions at Big Sky Resort, Jeremy Ueland has canceled training this Friday (11/28/08) for the Junior Development Team.  He plans to ski with the kids Saturday and Sunday, though.

Taylor Middleton at Big Sky told Jeremy that Big Sky is going to make an announcement on Wednesday regarding what parts of the mountain are expected to open on Thanksgiving Day.  The resort is hoping that there will be enough snow to link the bowl with the bottom third of Mr. K, where there is man made snow.

Freeride Team: Trampoline Practice

Coach Kraig Kempt has arranged for members of the BSSEF Freeride Team to use the Bridger Ski Foundation's trampoline to practice off-snow aerials and tricks.  Kraig will supervise and assist the kids.  To learn more, call Kraig at 406-585-0592, or send him an e-mail.

OHG Race Rescheduled

The Over the Hill Gang races (SL/GS/Dual) have been moved to March 27-29, 2009, at Bridger Bowl Montana.  See the Northern Division website for more information.  The current competition schedule for YSL and Juniors can be found on the BSSEF calendar.

Vonn's Slalom Win

Lindsey Vonn, a speed event specialist, throws her skis sideways midway through her second run and still manages to win the first slalom race of the World Cup season.  Check it out:
